Sophie is a descendent of Ngāti Rangi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa and Ngāti Raukawa. She is a queer Māori photographer based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. Her approach to photography is documentary in style, capturing the mise-en-scene as it develops without directing or imposing, creating images that feel inclusionary and in-the-moment.
